Canada's eHealth leaders honoured at gala in Toronto

TORONTO – A sold-out crowd of 380 attended the fourth annual Canadian Health Informatics Awards Gala, where advanced users and suppliers of eHealth solutions were honoured for innovation and leadership.

ITAC Health (formerly CHITTA, Health Division of ITAC) and COACH: Canada’s Health Informatics Association, co-hosted the gala.

“The gala is a great opportunity to acknowledge leaders in the health informatics field,” says Linda Miller, COACH President. “The gala also provides the opportunity to communicate and leverage best practices which will lead to improvements in patient safety, access and effectiveness of the health system.”

The award recipients were:

Winners of the Canadian Society of Telehealth (CST) awards, the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) Pinnacle Awards, the Canada Health Infoway Standards Collaborative Peer Award and the MacNaught-Taillon Leadership Award, all presented prior to the gala, were also recognized at CHIA 2008.
