Humber River installs ThinkingPACS

TORONTO – Humber River Regional Hospital (HRRH), with three sites in Toronto, recently installed a ThinkingPACS from Thinking Systems Corp. of St. Petersburg, Fla.

“This PACS implementation was made in conjunction with HRRH’s Philips iSite PACS implementation to provide a comprehensive PACS solution for the entire organization,” said Xiaoyi Wang, co-CEO and co-founder of Thinking Systems, “With iSite PACS providing centralized archiving and radiology solutions, ThinkingPACS provides comprehensive molecular imaging solutions through its ModalityBroker and plug-ins/add-ons.”

He added, “Our ThinkingPACS provides vendor-neutral molecular imaging solutions, and integrates various vendors’ DICOM or legacy molecular imaging equipment in HRRH’s nuclear medicine departments with the Philips iSite enterprise PACS.”

“We were impressed by how Thinking Systems’ solutions enable centralized archiving of images from molecular imaging modalities to Philips iSite PACS across the organization,” said Guthrie Fong, Manager, HRRH Image Management.

“Thinking Systems provides clinical solutions as plug-ins for iSite PACS for processing, quantification, and review for both nuclear cardiology and general nuclear medicine,” said Fong. “They’ve integrated our nuclear medicine images into our hospital PACS and provide seamless workflow.”

“This is a significant installation that brings cutting-edge technology to medical staff, radiologists, and physicians at HRRH,” said Kenneth Giles, president, ADN Canada, Inc., which distributes Thinking Systems in Canada.

“Thinking Systems strives to provide its clients with a fully customized solution,” said Xiaoyi Wang, co-CEO and co-founder of Thinking Systems. “To that end, we work very closely with our customers to develop tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of each medical facility.”

He added, “Thinking Systems’ philosophy of understanding our customers’ needs, establishing a good rapport with our customers, and working together as partners, are paramount to our commitment to enabling our customers to realize greater efficiencies, and ultimately improved patient satisfaction and medical outcomes.”

Thinking Systems will showcase its flagship products – Thinking PACS and ThinkingRIS at the 94th Annual Meeting Of The Radiological Society Of North America (RSNA), held November 30 through December 5 at McCormick Place in Chicago (Booth 7121 in Hall A, North Building).

Thinking Systems is also debuting its new release of web-based ThinkingRIS, unified with its ThinkingPACS powered by a single database, as well as its integration with third party PACS, including Philips/Stentor iSite PACS, Fujifilm Synapse PACS, and other leading enterprise PACS, to provide nuclear cardiology, PET-CT fusion, SPECT-CT fusion, and general nuclear medicine solutions to users of these third party PACS.”

New products also include structured reporting for nuclear cardiology and echocardiography, and general nuclear medicine quantification protocols for MUGA, renal, gallbladder, gastric emptying, and lung studies, as well as general ROI analysis tools. Thinking Systems will also showcase its enhanced PACS solutions for nuclear cardiology, PET-CT fusion, SPECT-CT fusion, and general nuclear medicine.”
