New VP of strategic planning at Ontario’s SSHA

TORONTO – William Albino, CEO of Smart Systems for Health Agency (SSHA), has announced the appointment of Chris Renaud (pictured) as Vice President, Strategic Planning and Architecture. Mr. Renaud brings over 20 years of senior IT and health sector experience to SSHA. Most recently he held the position of CIO, Health Services Information & Information Technology (I&IT) Cluster, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC).

“Chris will work with industry stakeholders to ensure that SSHA’s business model and strategies are compatible with and support overall e-Health strategies,” said Mr. Albino. “Chris will also be responsible for ensuring SSHA’s policies and guidelines are well thought-out, practical, deployable and enforceable.”
Prior to his work at the Minstry of Health and Long-Term Care, Mr. Renaud held IT delivery positions at the Vice President level. He has led a number of innovative strategic initiatives and alignment of I&IT with business directions and process change to improve service delivery. He has an M.B.A. from York University .
“No sector is more vital or dynamic than e-health,” said Mr. Renaud. “I am looking forward to working with stakeholders and with SSHA’s new management team to use information and technology in an effective way to improve health outcomes for Ontarians.”
