Cdn Association of Radiologists announces new CEO

OTTAWA – Dr. David Vickar (pictured), President of the Canadian Association of Radiologists, is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Adele Fifield (pictured) as the association’s Chief Executive Officer. With 20 years in association management, Ms. Fifield, a recipient of the Order of Ontario, says she is “excited to be a part of such a dynamic organization that is clearly focused on issues most relevant to its membership.”

The Canadian Association of Radiologists, a voluntary organization, represents the interests of over 2,000 physician radiologists in Canada, promoting clinical, education, research and political goals within the profession, and to the medical community, all levels of government, and the public.

A recent move of the association’s head office to Ottawa will position it strategically for its future initiatives. “By leading the CAR team, Ms. Fifield,” Dr. Vickar adds “will play a key role in cementing the CAR’s place as a national and global leader in quality healthcare.”

A principal upcoming event for the Canadian Association of Radiologists is its 71st Annual Scientific Meeting which will take place in Ottawa from May 1-4, 2008.

A roster of internationally-renowned radiology experts and exceptional networking opportunities make the event a must-attend for imaging specialists and technologists. Celebrating its 60th anniversary since incorporation, the Canadian Association of Radiologists is poised to increase its positive impact on Canadian and international healthcare.
