Quebec company wins OR contract for Paris hospitals

MONTREAL – CHCA Computer Systems, developer of the OR management system called Opera, announced that the solution has been adopted by the Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris, through a supplier consortium made up Thales Group, Medasys and the European distributor of Opera, GE Healthcare.

With 37 hospitals, the AP-HP is treating more than one million patients a year and employs nearly 92 000 persons. According to CHCA, this project represents one of the largest healthcare IT contracts awarded in France in years.

“For CHCA, this important contract is the result of our growing recognition in the European market, where we have won important contracts in many countries; in Finland, for example, where we supply almost all the hospitals of the country with Opera. Our leading position on the European market is now confirmed with the signature of this new contract with AP-HP”, says Denis Thomassin, president of CHCA.

Already installed in 160 Operating Room suites around the world, including approximately 50 hospitals and private clinics in the province of Quebec, Opera software offers a unique data management system that is directly affecting the performance of the hospitals in the delivery of surgical services, the company says.
