COACH and telehealth society become partners

The Canadian Society of Telehealth (CST), Canada’s national telehealth organization, and COACH: Canada’s health informatics association, wish to announce that they have entered into a strategic alliance through the signing of a formal collaboration Agreement.

“This important alliance will bring together the resources of both organizations in a cooperative program promoting telehealth and e-Health related activities in Canada and abroad,” said John Schinbein (pictured), Executive Director of the CST. “Through this agreement, the organizations will undertake specific joint initiatives to advance the benefits, practice and value of health informatics and the use of telehealth in Canada in a seamless, integrated and effective manner.”

The CST and COACH have agreed to:

• Cross-promote each others conferences;

• Hold joint Executive meetings at least semi-annually;

• Assign or engage a representative of each party to the agreement to assist with the development of the others conference program;

• Provide the opportunity for recognition of award winners at each organization’s annual conference or other recognition events;

• Plan and deliver joint events to support the integration of telehealth with health informatics and the other eHealth components. A joint workshop in the April–May time frame is currently under active discussion. Infoway is also involved with COACH and the CST in the planning of this workshop.

On a related note, the 10th Annual AGM, Conference and Tradeshow of the Canadian Society of Telehealth will be held in St. John’s, Newfoundland, November 3-6, 2007. Details on www.cst-sct.org.
