Medworxx adds single sign-on and portal technology

TORONTO – Medworxx, a leading provider of knowledge management and knowledge sharing solutions for the healthcare market, announced an agreement with Open Text Corp. to license the Coreport source code for the purposes of providing support to the Coreport Hospital Customer base, as well as enhancing and improving the product for sale into the healthcare marketplace.

Medworxx also entered into an agreement with GE Healthcare to continue to support GE Healthcare’s customers in this segment. Coreport is a web-based .NET technology that is used by over 25 hospitals in the United States for the purpose of providing Single Sign-On as well as the development of a shared workstation information portal such as Nursing and Physician Portals.

Medworxx will integrate the two components of Coreport with the MEDcms, MEDlearn and MEDpolicy technologies, all of which are also web-based and use .NET technology.

“We are excited about the expansion of both our product set and our customer base,” said Dan Matlow, President & CEO, Medworxx. With the addition of the Coreport customer base, we now have over 50 hospitals that use our solution across North America. The Coreport solution allows us to expand our offerings into the clinical patient area. The Coreport solution, which we will rebrand MEDportal and MEDsso, are two growth areas in which Medworxx is now very much involved.

“We have been using the Coreport solution as both our Single Sign-On solution as well as our Physician Portal solution. All of our physicians currently use the product as their point of entry into all of their information needs. We look forward to working with Medworxx to define the future requirements of their Single Sign-On and Portal solution,” said Ryan Leach, manager of network services at St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield, Ill.

“This agreement represents a very important step in the development and growth of Medworxx. Coreport and the Centricity Portal are products that we are intimately familiar with and are in line with the product development strategy that we have. The customers will benefit from our partnership with Open Text Corporation in the sense that we are completely focused on delivering needed technologies to the healthcare market,” said Andre Vandenberk, Chief Technology Officer, Medworxx.
