Accentus acquires Mrecord, strengthens ambulatory care

OTTAWA – Accentus Inc., a leading provider of Integrated Medical Document Management Solutions for the North American healthcare industry, has announced the acquisition of Mrecord.

Mrecord is a leader in speech-to-text technology and has offices in Raleigh, North Carolina and Mumbai, India. Accentus will utilize Mrecord’s technology platform and software development team to further enhance its ambulatory care service offering.

“Mrecord founder and CEO, Tushar Parekh, will continue on as Strategic Advisor, overseeing ambulatory care operations for Asia and retain overall responsibility for Mrecord’s India-based development centre,” said Stephen Rogers, Chief Executive Officer, Accentus Inc. “We welcome Tushar and his team and look forward to working together to bring cutting-edge technologies and best-in-class services to new and existing ambulatory care clients in Canada, the United States, and Asia.”

Accentus recently announced the acquisition of ZyloMed and Transolutions. Those acquisitions were completed in December 2010 in the following areas:
Acute care services and advanced transcription technology.

Transolutions is a technology-driven healthcare information company providing medical transcription products and services to acute care facilities, clinics, and surgery centres. Transolutions brings an established acute care client base and a strong technology focus.

The acquisition adds the APEX information management system enabled with an advanced speech recognition and speech understanding engine to Accentus’ technology base, driving significant cost savings and workflow efficiencies. Transolutions CEO, Michael Carnrite, will continue to lead the US-based acute care services and Apex development teams.
