Trillium hires Salumatics to host health records

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Salumatics Inc. and Trillium Health Centre have announced a five-year agreement that will see Salumatics provide remote hosting of Trillium health records in SaluVision, a platform-independent software product.

“Trillium Health Centre is a unique tertiary-care community hospital that is working to meet a growing demand for healthcare services in Mississauga and west Toronto,” said Allan Magnacca, President of Salumatics. “By using our software, Trillium will be able to integrate their electronic and paper records and expedite access to patient health information.”

According to the company, the SaluVision SaaS platform provides Trillium with a cost effective secure alternative to expensive legacy-based Electronic Document Management Systems.

SaluVision enhances Salumatics’ already robust product offerings at Trillium, which include document conversion, data hosting and disaster recovery, and allow multiple users to concurrently and securely access data instantly from any web browser.

Built using Web 2.0 technology, SaluVision delivers a RIA (Rich Internet Application) interface with better functionality and usability than found with legacy-based systems, the company said.

The SaluVision SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) model does not require any expensive upfront infrastructure investment and Salumatics’ extensive experience permits rapid deployment of the complete solution.

“SaluVision will provide the needed redundancy to ensure that critical information is always available to our clinicians,” said May Chang (pictured), VP, Decision Support and Chief Financial Officer for Trillium Health Centre. “We continue to benefit from our strong partnership with Salumatics, which has helped us integrate our paper and electronic patient records to better serve our patients.”
