Saskatchewan selects Procura’s solutions for home care

REGINA – The province of Saskatchewan announced that it has extended the licensing of Procura’s RAI/MDS-HC (Home and Community Care) assessment tool in all health regions. Over 1,000 additional clinical professionals throughout the province, including nurses, social workers and therapists, will be trained to use Procura’s Point-of-Care product.

Since 2001, Procura has provided the standard Home Care Administration system for Saskatchewan’s health regions, a solution that offered a common data set for the entire province.

“Over the last several years, our work with the Province of Saskatchewan has proven that a Canadian software company can deliver a solution that provides the unique benefits required in the community, and that integrates with the acute setting,” said Warren Brown (pictured at left), president of Procura. “Saskatchewan’s goal of getting a quality product dovetails nicely with our objective of providing a comprehensive solution for healthcare in Canada.”

According to the company, the fundamental element of Procura’s comprehensive solution is the Point-of-Care product, the RAI/MDS-HC, which sets a new standard for clinical assessment tools in Canada. Its advanced features decrease both the administrative time for nurses and risk of error.

“The quality of our Point-of-Care product is a reflection of the time and energy the clinicians, senior management and other professionals from the Province of Saskatchewan have put into making sure Procura delivers what they need,” said Scott Overhill, Procura’s vice-president, projects. “Their clinical knowledge and expertise has been essential.”
