30-doctor clinic selects Nightingale EMR

BURLINGTON, Ont. – North Burlington Medical Centre announced that is has selected Nightingale On Demand as its electronic medical record solution, a system supplied by Nightingale Informatix Corp. of Markham, Ont. It will be used by more than 30 full and part-time physicians providing family practice, pediatrics and walk-in (urgent care) medical services, with over 75,000 patient visits per year.

The North Burlington Medical Centre recently updated its facilities with a new and larger location, additional physicians and expanded medical services for the community. Nightingale On Demand will allow the Centre to transition away from paper charts to a completely electronic medical environment.

“We chose Nightingale over other EMR software providers because it offers a more sophisticated and progressive product, backed by a policy of constantly striving to improve and listen to their customers,” said Dr. Harpal Singh, of the North Burlington Medical Centre. “In short, we trust Nightingale to partner with us as we embark on the transition to EMR.”

Medical organizations such as North Burlington Medical Centre are using Nightingale to achieve state-of-the-art capabilities. Nightingale On Demand is a web based EMR and practice management system, so the clinic does not need to invest money on server hardware and software or to manage system maintenance and security issues. All of these services are included in the North Burlington Medical Centre contract, which is for a period of 60 months and targeted to go live in the summer of 2009.
